Bringing Pesäpallo to schools across India through the School Games Federation of India.
The School Games Federation of India (SGFI) is the apex body governing school-level sports in India. The inclusion of Pesäpallo within the SGFI framework has been a major step toward establishing the sport at the grassroots and developing young talent from an early age.
India's first national SGFI Pesäpallo orientation program was conducted in May 2017at the SAI (Sports Authority of India) Centre, Rajnandgaon, Durg, Chhattisgarh, introducing coaches, physical education teachers and officials to the rules, techniques and coaching methodology of Pesäpallo.
Pesäpallo has since featured in national school sports initiatives and cultural sporting events, including the Janjatiya Khel Mahotsav 2023 organized by the Ministry of Culture — further strengthening the sport's presence in India's educational and tribal sports ecosystems.
