In 2017, India participated in the Pesäpallo World Cup for the first time in Turku, Finland — a landmark moment for the sport in the country. The Indian Women's Team won the Bronze Medal, marking India's arrival on the global Pesäpallo stage. Both the Men's and Women's teams represented India with distinction alongside the global Pesäpallo community.
